This Term we have had an incursion from Buzz Ed Australia. Luke the presenter shared his knowledge of bees and biodiversity.  The children were made aware of the importance of bees in our environment. Alice wore the child-sized beekeeping suit and Luke spoke about the importance of being dressed properly when working with the bees to collect the honey and the honey combs. He showed the children the different types of  tools  used while working with the hives. The children learnt about the parts of the hive and what is inside the hive. It was very interesting to see the life cycle of the bee. The best part was to taste the yummy honey and to do some of the Bee activities.

Children’s House celebrated Maria Montessori’s birthday on the 31 August to recognise the wonderful contribution she has made to education around the world and to all Montessori schools. Children came dressed in the colours of the Italian flag and enjoyed stories on Maria Montessori.

International Literacy Day was celebrated on the 8 September. It was lovely to see the children bring in their favourite book to share with the class. The costumes were great and were really out of the book! Children’s House children had a little “book character” parade in the garden and shared their book with all the children and teachers.
