Welcome back to the final term of the year.
The children are busy in the practical life area pouring water, slicing banana , juicing oranges, squeezing sponges and spooning grains. This is important work that requires good hand eye coordination, concentration and motor control from your child. It is best to encourage your child to do this work sitting or standing at the table. If the grains happen to spill from the bowl, show your child how to pick them up one by one using the pincer grip returning them to their proper place. These practical life skills will be refined through practice, so please allow your child to repeat this work as often as they want to.
The weather is getting warmer and the sun shines directly into our area every morning. We use a roller blind to shade a large area of the outdoor work area, however please make sure your child wears a hat, long sleeves and applies sunscreen prior to attending.
Thank you Penny for running our group so beautifully in the first week of term whilst I was away.
There is still some availability to join us for the rest of the year. Please feel free to bring along a friend for a free trial at your next session.
