Congratulations to our two Junior Councillors, Isla Bennett and Jessica Wiggan. Jessica and Ilsa have been representing Rockingham Montessori at the City of Rockingham Junior Council meetings during 2020. Junior Council has been running for over 20 years. Once a month, year 6 children from schools in the City of Rockingham meet in the Council Chambers to learn about local government. They propose and debate ideas, and give suggestions to the City Council. In recognition of their involvement, Isla and Jessica were presented with certificates by the Mayor of Rockingham, Barry Sammels. In his presentation, Mayor Sammels recognised the leadership opportunity of being part of Junior Council and the way in which young people can contribute to their community.
