What a wonderful night we had last Friday for our Carols on the Green event.  I would like to particularly thank Paula Jacobs for her coordination of the night and also for both Natasha Waters and Paula for starting a new RMS tradition of giving the photo book to the children from Community Spirit.  This gift was greatly appreciated by all ages and it was lovely seeing the children having their class mates sign their books as a special momento.  Thank you again to all of the parents/families that contributed to making this night such a success.

Congratulations to our students who participated in the Kwinana Industries Council I Projects throughout this year.  On 3 December Steph, Ollie, Daniel, Jay and Leigh, attended the final component of their course, the KIC Conference held at Murdoch University in South Street.  As a member of the Kwinana Industries Council, our high school students have access to a range of industry based programs which lead towards these students gaining a Western Australian Certificate of Education point towards their secondary graduation.  We would also like to congratulate Kaleb who has also taken part in the KIC Bright Sparkz program which is a science based program run throughout this term.   These additional opportunities form a very solid foundation for the students who are wishing to utilise Portfolio Entry as a tertiary pathway.

A huge congratulations to all the students who performed in the Adolescent Program Arts Showcase on Monday night.  The packed house enjoyed a selection of dance, music, vocal and hilarious drama performances along with a beautiful display of artwork all created by our wonderful high school students.  The play “The play that goes wrong” was so funny that my cheeks hurt from laughing so much.  Thank you to Scarlett, Jade, Kirsty, Manni and Beau – what an awesome team of inspirational arts teachers.

We wish Renae, our fabulous Dolphins Education Assistant every happiness for her marriage on Sunday.  We also wish all our families and staff a very happy summer holiday and we look forward to seeing our children back on Monday 3 February 2020.

All my love,

Vanessa
