I would like to welcome Jodie Borgia back after her little “sojourn” in the US for the past six years. Jodie commenced our Penguins class in 2008 and worked with us as the Penguins teacher and Children’s House Program Coordinator until 2015, when she went to Bend Oregon to commence a Montessori charter school, in the role of school Principal. We are delighted to have Jodie return to cover DOTT across Dolphins and Seahorse along with working across the entire school to assist with the implementation of our new school management system, Transparent Classroom.  We also welcome to staff and to WA, Antony Pritchard who has commenced in the Adolescent Program (AP) as our new Program Coordinator and Drama/Humanities specialist. Welcome to the team Antony.

We have had several changes in EA’s this term with Diane Thompson joining the AP team as the Maambakoort EA. Kaitlyn Todd has commenced as the full-time Sealion’s EA position, therefore, providing a position in Kara for Louise Lawrence to join the Children’s House team. There is also the coverage of our two maternity leave positions by Helen Weckman in Dolphins and the reappointment of a Turtles EA with Zahhira Baleem filling this position. Welcome to our RMS family Diane, Louise, Helen and Zahhira. We also welcome Jo Benson to her new role as Nominated Supervisor for our Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) program. Jo has already been such a wonderful support across the school as a mother of three wonderful girls along with leading Community Spirit over the past year and a bit. Thank you Jo for taking on this new role and for running such a fabulous school holiday program with your team during the holiday break.

This term has been very busy as we had to move many events from the beginning of the year to now. We started the term with our sports day and AP swimming lessons and last week our Middle School students enjoyed their expedition at Margaret River.

On Friday Blue Gum Montessori School joined us for our Picnic in the Park, which was a day of fun activities held at the Blue Park in Rockingham.

On Monday our Senior School students headed to Denmark for their Odyssey and swimming lessons commenced for our Primary School students.

The Community Spirit is also busily working on the Carols on the Green event planning and would welcome anyone who is able to help out in any way as this is the highlight event on the school’s social calendar that all families are welcome to attend.

This year we will hold Carols on the Green at our Karnup campus, all classes and advisories will be presenting items so we look forward to seeing all families on the night.
