I am delighted to be able to share our 2025 – 2028 Strategic Plan with you and thank you for all the input families, students and staff gave to provide direction for our school in the coming years. “To provide quality education and professional development of staff” is one of our four pillars within our new Strategic Plan. At our Karnup property, we are in the process of transforming this into a training facility. Carla has been busy setting up our 0-3 and 3-6 environments ready for our two courses that will commence in August (3-6) and November (0-3). This is the second time the Association Montessori International (AMI) 3-6 Diploma will be run in Western Australia and the first time the AMI 0-3 Diploma will be offered in Western Australia. Did you know, all of our teachers have a four year Tertiary Education degree and our Education Assistants have either a Cert III/IV or Diploma. On top of this, our staff are Montessori trained. Our Professional Learning program supports staff in Montessori training during our School Development Days along with individuals enrolling in these eighteen month diploma courses. The establishment of the training facility at Karnup means we can offer training during term time for our staff, along with those who join us from interstate and international Montessori locations.
We warmly welcome Queenie Massie back to staff in her new role as Facilities Officer. Queenie has now visited each site and compiled a targeted approach for works that are regular maintenance and capital improvements across the School and Child Care Centres. It is great to have you back with us Queenie.
Thank you to the families who joined us for our Community Spirit meeting on Thursday where we confirmed our next event will be our “Rodeo Disco” complete with Boot Scooting on 6 June from 5pm. We welcome any support for this event, please email reception@rms.wa.edu.au if you are able to help. Our last Reconciliation Action Plan meeting (RAP) was postponed. If you would like to join our RAP committee, we are now meeting on 3 April at 7pm online, please email reception@rms.wa.edu.au for the link to this meeting.
Over the past few weeks we have been busy interviewing staff for our new West Coast Montessori Early Learning Centre Rockingham site and also taking expressions of interest from families to enrol their children. We will have twenty places per day for this service and I am delighted to advise we already have fifteen families joining us to commence at the beginning of next term. The hours for this service will be 7.30am to 5pm, we will be enrolling children from 30 months and the minimum number of days for enrolment is three days.
We had a wonderful time today at our Sports Day. Enjoy the action shots!
