Big Work in Montessori classrooms refers to projects or activities that are deeply engaging and require a significant amount of time, effort, and concentration. Sometimes, we also have the opportunity to link these activities to a fundraising venture, allowing the children to be part of helping those in need.
Both Kieanna and Isabelle have been working hard organising Rockingham site’s Biggest Morning Tea to raise money for the Cancer Council. They have had to plan a menu and calculate the quantities of ingredients needed for 111 guests. They have written to supermarkets to request donations.
They are learning how to set targets, market the event, communicate with external organisations, and develop many other valuable skills. We look forward to their event on 20th May. The girls will be in touch with everyone soon!
