A huge welcome back to all our children and families for term 1 2025. It has been a very busy couple of weeks. We have 16 new children and their families who have joined our site in the first two weeks, and another 6 children visiting this coming week. It is so exciting to watch the children settle back into their school routine and to see everyone guiding the new peers in their class.
As you can see from the photos Stay and Play is back on again this term. We had a great turn out to our first afternoon. Please note that I have changed the day to Tuesdays, so more of our Children’s House children have the opportunity to stay. The children really love the opportunity to play in the ‘big kids’ area and to have all the ages mixed together. It is also a lovely time for families to meet and get to know each other better.
I would like to officially welcome two new teaching assistants to our site. Katherine has joined the Starfish class on Mondays and Fridays. Claudia has joined the Dolphin class on Mondays, Tuesday and Fridays. Renea had to bring her maternity leave forward so we have had Claudia join us a little earlier than expected. We cannot wait to meet the new addition to Renea’s family in the upcoming months.
As we begin a new year I highly recommend you book in for an observation in your child’s class. Spending time observing a Montessori classroom provides a great opportunity to see what life is like for your child every day. Whether your child is new to our school or continuing with us, you will get great insight and information to help with end of day conversations. If your child is new to a class then we ask you to wait a while for them to settle in. Please check in with the teacher when a good time would be. Then you are able to contact Debbie in the office to book in a time slot.
We definitely have a busy term and there are many events coming up. The Lower and Upper Primary children will be off to swimming lessons over the next two weeks. We have Meet the Teacher sessions, A New to Montessori Parent session, and a Naplan information session. Please keep an eye on the calendar in your Orbit App so you can see the dates and times coming up.
