Term 1 has flown by and Janda has been very busy with their lessons as well as some special activities.
Harmony Day
Harmony Day was celebrated on Tuesday 21st March this year and the whole Port Kennedy primary school got into the spirit. Some of us dressed up with something from or something to do with our family’s heritage. We played a game to discover our classmate’s ancestry and we learned about some similarities and differences within our class as our friends talked about their family backgrounds. Best of all we joined the Kara and Mooja classes for a delicious shared lunch. There were sandwiches, sausage rolls, ham and cheese scrolls, and some pavlovas. There were also foods from South Africa, Scotland and Italy. Ziggy and Tilly
Gardening on the verandah
On the 23rd of March, Atticus, Kloey, Maia and I were helping to make the new planting boxes ready for herbs and vegetables. We started by putting squashed cans and milk bottles in the bottom of the big planter box. This was instead of heavy rocks and this made it light and easy to move. After doing this we laid weed matting over it and then put in the soil. The next day Isla, Asha, and I planted snow peas, chives capsicum, and coriander in the planter boxes. Tiaan
Volleyball with AP
It was a 15-minute walk on a hot day but it was so worth it! We had so much fun playing indoor beach volleyball at Port Kennedy. We had to learn how to play beach volleyball and were taught by two AP students, one was Tiaan’s brother DeLaRey and the other was Jy. They were very nice and we had lots of fun in our 2 weeks. Thank you. Lukas
