Our fit out at the new Adolescent Program site in Port Kennedy is progressing well and we are on track for a 9th May commencement on site. Our new shade sails at the PK playground have been installed and I am delighted to advise that our PK OSHC (Out of School Hours Care) program is now operational for mornings and afternoons.  Kaitlyn Todd is our Nominated Supervisor for this program.  Please find a link to our program for the upcoming OSHC school holiday program that will run from the Rockingham Primary School site.  This will be a fun opportunity for our Rockingham and Port Kennedy children to reunite.

We farewell and give a huge thank you to Jo Gow for her work with the school as our Business Manager over the past nine months and we wish her well returning to her previous position as a school finance officer at the Department of Education.  In Jo’s place we welcome Amanda Hunt as our new Business Manager and Amanda will be located at the Port Kennedy site.

I would like to congratulate Tony Gillespie and Jodi Kerslake on their new roles within the school as Associate Principals.  With the establishment of our new Port Kennedy Primary School site and the ongoing maintenance of the Karnup sites, we have restructured our management across the school to have a more flattened leadership model.  We are also redistributing our administration team to ensure that all sites have administration staff available to support families and staff adequately.

This truly is a very exciting time for the school with all of our developments however I want to assure families that the most important thing is we maintain our close adherence to our school mission of “providing a Montessori environment in which the needs of the whole child are met in a nurturing, safe and caring school, by encouraging independence, mutual respect and self-discipline so that students are prepared to take their place in the world.”
