On June 10, two students from Rockingham organised a fashion show and markets to raise money for Penguin Island. Matilda Menendez and Emi Edwards chose the theme “Crazy Fashion”.

They then invited students from Rockingham, Port Kennedy and the Adolescent Program to create costumes and parade for the assembled audience. Emi and Matilda also co-ordinated market stalls where students sold afternoon tea treats, dog toys and crafts. This event is a good example of part of the Cosmic Education curriculum, where Upper Primary students have the opportunity to follow their interests.

This is their Great Work. Matilda and Emi learnt how to plan, organise space, do publicity, delegate jobs to others and host such an event. They raised over $300.00! The next step is to get the money to Penguin Island.
