Term 4 ended with a focus on our end-of-year celebrations. We have been creating items for the Carols on the Green where families could purchase the crafts created by their children.

Dugongs and Turtles Graduating Students

Dugongs and Turtles would like to extend congratulations to our three Graduating students Matilda, Knight and Holden. They have had a taste of what it would be like in the AP by participating in the Master Classes that have been on offer in terms three and four this year.  We wish them all the very best in their new classes.

Technology

Dugongs and Turtles students have been slowly creating their personal dominoes sets.  The students had the opportunity to choose their pieces of wood, cut it to size using a jig, sand each item, place the number markings on each piece and then finally wax them.  These pieces were placed in their own bag they also created themselves.

General Class Work

Our students have developed their own personal independence.

Dugongs and Turtles have practiced planning their days and the order in which they do the jobs in the morning.  It has been so great to see these skills develop in our students.  Using trial and error and planning our newest students become better at organising their daily tasks, students who have been in the class for more than a year can plan more than one day and the graduates are developing their weekly schedules, in preparation for their new classes in the Adolescent Program.

Remembrance Day

Our wonderful students created a large wreath for Remembrance Day.  They mounted it for display and it was taken to the Rockingham War Memorial.  At the memorial, Matilda read the poem “In Flanders Fields” by John McCrae.
