This term the Dugongs and Turtles have been enjoying settling into their new shared classroom space. The children are becoming more familiar with their new environment, and it’s been wonderful to see them engaging across the open-plan area and forming new social connections.
With the combined Turtles and Dugongs class, students now have more opportunities to collaborate. The larger, diverse group will help develop social skills, as children learn how to navigate relationships with class members of various ages and personalities.
Whole group activities including sport, art, music, dance, and drama lessons have been great opportunities for the new group to work together and get to know each other. Each day students also meet for community circle and participate in various community building activities.
As children have adapted to the new environment, new systems and new routines, the focus virtue has been flexibility. They learnt that practicing flexibility can lead to creative ways of doing things. We are incredibly proud of all the children for embracing new challenges with open minds, and we look forward to an exciting term together ahead!
