Express Your Interest

What a great night was had at the School Disco last Friday night.  Thank you to the Community Spirit who organised this event along with the raffle and sausage sizzle that raised $366.80 for our future Community Spirit events.

We sadly farewell Katrina Hayes from her Indonesian teaching positon at Port Kennedy Primary School and we wish Katrina well in her search for a full-time teaching position.  As a result of this change, we will be implementing AUSLAN as our Language Other Than English (LOTE) program at Port Kennedy.  During Term 4 last year, one of our Senior School students implemented AUSLAN for the Primary School as her interest program and the children really enjoyed learning this universal form of communication.  To continue to support this interest Nicola will deliver these classes commencing this week.

We are very excited to inform the builder’s security fence at the Rockingham campus will be removed on Wednesday.  This signifies the handover of the space and the end of the building program.  We look forward to the opening of the building on 19 June at 2pm and welcome everyone to attend.  At this event The Hon Madeleine King MP will open the facility and we will hear from members of the school community who established the school. We will also have our senior school students who will be graduating this year, tell their stories of their time throughout the primary and high school program.  A tour of the building and an afternoon tea will be provided and we would love you to join us for this momentous occasion.

We congratulate Val from the Dugongs class for his election to represent the School at the City of Rockingham as Junior Councillor.  This program has a rich history within the Rockingham region and our School has participated in the program for over ten years with our nominated students greatly enjoying their time as a council representative.  Val wrote a wonderful speech focusing on supporting homeless people within the Rockingham area and encouraging the training and development of work force skills.   Thank you to all the students who nominated for this role and the standard of your speeches was a credit to each of you.

Exciting news – West Coast Montessori Early Learning Centre is now online, please enjoy our new website.
